George Wooten

My grandfather, George Wooten went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2006. I remember a few stories he used to tell about the Underhill when he was younger. In going thru his belongings we found papers and a picture of the USS Underhill. In researching we found your website. Great Job! I’d like to share a Navy photo and a more recent photo of him before he began to age.  He was never ashamed of his military experience while alive and the Navy served him well at his death. God Bless all who serve our country for so many they do not even know and God Bless those family members who have experienced a loss both then and current.

A message from Ray Wooten - Grandson

My grandfather was living in Ocean City, Md. He was in an assisted living facility at the time of his death. On Jan. 18, 2006 he broke his hip and slowly went down hill until he died of congestive heart failure on Feb. 18, 2006. He really enjoyed a full good life up until he broke his hip. He loved fishing, hunting, and outdoor cooking. He really loved to be on the water. My sister has a picture of him in his Navy uniform and she will be sending it soon.Thank you for the wonderful web site and I will never forget what our veterens did for us.

Thanks again,
Ray Wooten
